This Proving Lines are Parallel (Using Converses) Cut & Paste Activity is a cut and paste activity in which students practice identifying parallel lines and determining which converse proves the lines are parallel. The activity includes the Corresponding Angles Converse, Alternate Interior Angles Converse, Alternate Exterior Angles Converse, and Consecutive Interior Angles Converse.
Simply give each student the diagram sheet and template. Students will cut out the 18 diagrams, determine which lines are parallel, identify the converse that proves them parallel, and paste each diagram in the correct location on the template.
Two diagrams will not be used because the given angle markings or measures do not provide enough information to conclude that the lines are parallel.
