Students will practice graphing and writing equations of conic sections (circles, ellipses, hyperbolas, and parabolas) with this flip book. There are 7 tabs divided as follows:
• Graphing Circles
• Graphing Ellipses
• Graphing Hyperbolas
• Graphing Parabolas
• Writing Equations of Circles
• Writing Equations of Ellipses
• Writing Equations of Hyperbolas
• Writing Equations of Parabolas
• Identifying Conics in General Conic Form
*For graphing, students must identify the key characteristics for each conic: center, radius, vertices, co-vertices, foci, asymptotes, axis of symmetry, directrix).
*For writing, students are a graph or a combination of the key characteristics to write the equation in standard form.
*For identifying conics in general conic form, students must write the equation in standard form, which will require completing the square.
There are 36 practice problems for students to complete. Directions for printing and answer key included.
