Students will practice identifying the standard form equation, general form equation, and graph of a hyperbola with this “Triples” Activity. There are 24 total cards. Once matched, there will be 8 sets of three cards, each with a set of an equation in standard form, an equation in general form, and a graph.
I recommend that students work in groups of 3-4 on this activity. They can show their work directly on the back of the card, or on a separate sheet of paper if you prefer. Once they are finished, I have my students staple their “triples” together and place in a zip-lock bag.
An answer key is included to ensure the correct cards are matched.
