This writing linear equations coloring activity helps students practice writing the equation of a line given two points. The activity includes 20 problems, separated into two sets.
How It Works:
Students write each linear equation, then look for equations with matching y-intercepts between the two sets. Each match tells them how to color the tree. For example, if #1 has a y-intercept of -5 and Pink has a y-intercept of -5, then all 1’s are pink. Matching y-intercepts means students must write the entire equation instead of stopping at the slope. It also works as a partner activity, with Partner A completing Set 1 and Partner B completing Set 2.
