Students will practice multiplying polynomials (binomial x binomial and binomial x trinomial) with this coloring activity.  There are two problems per each question number. Students find the product of both problems, then find the sum or difference of each row. This makes a great review of not only multiplying, but adding and subtracting polynomials as well. The answer they get will determine how to color the space scene.

I have my students show all their work on a separate sheet of paper, then staple to the activity to turn in. I had my students complete a survey last year on which activities they enjoyed most. I was VERY surprised to see the “coloring activities” highly ranked. I guess they are never too old for coloring 🙂

My students and I always love coloring activities. They find it very engaging and it is a self-checking activity so they feel good knowing they have the correct answer. In addition, coloring is very calming. They were very engaged with this activity.
