This exponent rules coloring activity helps students practice simplifying expressions using the rules of exponents. Negative exponents are included, along with some challenging multi-step problems. The activity includes 20 problems, separated into two columns.
How It Works:
Students solve each problem, then look for matching answers between the two columns. Each match tells them how to color the heart, so the activity is self-checking. It works well as an independent activity or as a partner activity, with Partner A completing the left column and Partner B completing the right column. Use it for Valentine’s Day or any time of the year!
