Students will practice classifying and graphing classic polar curves with this sort and graph activity. Types of polar curves include circles, limaçoms (looped, cardioid, dimpled, and convex), roses (3-petal and 4-petal), lemniscates, and spirals. There are 9 total polar equations that students must identify and graph.
A 3-page graphing worksheet and 9 equations cards are included in this resource. Students identify the type of polar curve on the card and graph the equation in the row that corresponds to the type of curve. Then, they identify the types of symmetry, maximum r-values, and zeros for each graph. Each equation is assigned a letter which will make the activity easy to review or grade.
