Students will practice identifying whether a binomial is a factor of a polynomial function by using the Factor Theorem with this engaging PowerPoint Activity. Both long and synthetic division will be used to determine whether statements are true or false. Aside from the Factor Theorem, this is great practice with dividing polynomials!
Students can work out the division on loose-leaf paper or on a whiteboard. If the binomial is a factor of the polynomial function, students hold up a green card. If the binomial is not a factor of the polynomial function, students hold up a red card. Students may check their answer by clicking the green check or red X. If it’s correct, it will applause. If incorrect, a buzzer will sound.
There are 25 questions total. Use all at once, or break it up and use it multiple times as review, a warm-up, exit ticket, etc.
