Student will practice solving systems of equations using Cramer’s Rule and inverse matrices with this partner activity. This activity includes both two-variable and three-variable systems of equations.
There are two versions (A and B). Partner A will solve the system using one method while Partner B uses the other method. Once finished, they check their answers. If they match, they move on. If they are different, they swap papers and check each other’s work to identify and clarify any mistakes.
Each partner will complete 10 problems: 6 two-variable systems (3 systems using Cramer’s Rule and 3 systems using inverse matrices) and 4 three-variable systems (2 systems using Cramer’s Rule and 2 systems using inverse matrices). The activity is organized so that you can omit the three-variable systems if you wish and only have students complete the two-variable systems. They are not mixed in.
