Students will practice finding the determinant of both a 2×2 and 3×3 matrix with this Pyramid Sum Puzzle activity.
Simply give each student the pyramid template and set of matrices. They find the determinant of each matrix, cut out the boxes, then paste them onto the template so that each determinant is the sum of the two determinants directly above it. The box letters make this activity very easy to grade. Actual answers not shown in the cover photo above!
