This radical operations with higher indexes coloring activity helps Algebra 2 students practice adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing radicals, including higher indexes. Multiplication includes monomials times binomials and binomials times binomials, and division requires rationalizing the denominator and multiplying by a conjugate. All answers are in simplest radical form. The activity includes 20 problems, separated into two columns.
How It Works:
Students solve each problem, then look for matching answers between the two columns. Each match tells them how to color the volleyball, so the activity is self-checking. It works well as an independent activity or as a partner activity, with Partner A completing the left column and Partner B completing the right column.
