This arithmetic series coloring activity helps students practice finding the sum of an arithmetic series. Some series give the first terms and the total number of terms, while others are written in sigma notation, starting at either the first term or a later term. The activity includes 20 problems, separated into two sets, and was created for Algebra 2 or higher.
How It Works:
Students solve each problem, then look for matching answers between the two sets. Each match tells them how to color the picture, so the activity is self-checking. It works well as an independent activity or as a partner activity, with Partner A completing Set 1 and Partner B completing Set 2.
