This triangle inequalities maze activity includes two self-checking mazes that help students practice comparing and ordering side lengths and angle measures in triangles. Maze 1 focuses on ordering angle measures when given side lengths, and Maze 2 focuses on ordering side lengths when given angle measures. Students order measures from least to greatest and greatest to least, and compare measures using inequalities, working from both diagrams and verbal descriptions. This activity was created for a high school Geometry class.
How It Works:
Students solve each problem and use their answers to navigate through the maze. If they land on an answer that isn’t an option, they know right away to go back and check their work. Mazes work well as warm-ups, alternative homework assignments, classwork, or quick assessments.
