Students will review conjectures, counterexamples, compound statements, conditional statements, understanding symbolic notation, determining the truth value of a logic statement, and using deductive reasoning (Law of Detachment and Law of Syllogism) to write valid conclusions with this set of 32 task cards.
The cards are organized as follows:
- Cards 1-8: Conjectures and Counterexamples
- Cards 9-16: Compound Statements (Disjunctions and Conjunctions)
- Cards 17-26: Conditional Statements (including inverse, converse, contrapositive, and biconditional statements)
- Cards 27-32: Deductive Reasoning (Law of Detachment and Law of Syllogism)
A worksheet is included for students to record their answers. They can check their answers by scanning the QR code on each card. Connection to the internet is not required to scan the code. However, a QR scanner app is required on the device. There are several free apps available to download.
If you haven’t used QR codes in your classroom yet, I highly recommend them! Students love using the technology, and the self-checking makes it easier on the teacher!
