This volume and surface area maze activity includes four self-checking mazes that help Geometry students practice finding the volume and surface area of cylinders, prisms, pyramids, and cones. More challenging problems require the Pythagorean Theorem or special right triangles to find a missing dimension. Two mazes cover volume and two cover surface area. This activity was created for a high school Geometry class.
How It Works:
Students solve each problem and use their answers to navigate through the maze. If they land on an answer that isn’t an option, they know right away to go back and check their work. Mazes work well as warm-ups, alternative homework assignments, classwork, or quick assessments.
