Students will practice working with rational exponents with this set of four mazes.  This includes converting between exponential form and radical form, as well as operations with rational exponents. The solutions are used to navigate students through the maze. Mazes work well as warm-ups, alternative homework assignments, classwork, or quick assessments.

Mazes Included:

  • Maze 1: Converting from Exponential Form to Radical Form
  • Maze 2: Converting from Radical Form to Exponential Form
  • Maze 3: Operations with Rational Exponents (Set 1)
  • Maze 4: Operations with Rational Exponents (Set 2)

Note: Operations include the product, quotient, and power rule. The answers to mazes 1, 3, and 4 are given in simplest radical form. This provides a good review of simplifying radicals as well. Click on the preview to ensure this activity is appropriate for your students.

My students love mazes. I really like there are several mazes in this activity that vary in difficulty. I use them over several weeks to review simplifying radicals.

—CHRISTINE B.

Used this as a practice worksheet for some Algebra students that I tutor. It was a nice break from the traditional problems in the book that they were used to. They thought it was really fun and loved it!

—LAYLA F.

My students love these activities! They are relevant and engaging to the curriculum. Plus, it's a great way to review the material that was taught in a fun way instead of just traditional practice problems!

—CANDICE C.
