Students will practice factoring polynomials by working through these 32 task cards. The cards are organized as follows:

• Cards 1-6: Factoring Difference of Squares
• Cards 7-12: Factoring Sum of Cubes and Difference of Cubes
• Cards 13-26: Factoring Trinomials
• Cards 27-32: Factoring Polynomials with Four Terms

Factoring a greatest common factor (GCF) is included on most all cards. Several cards contain more than one type of factoring (for example: trinomial factoring with a resulting difference of squares.)

These cards were designed for an Algebra 2 level class. For a more basic version, check out my Algebra 1 Factoring Task Cards.

A recording worksheet is included for students to show work. They can check their answers by scanning the QR code on each card. Connection to the internet is not required to scan the code. However, a QR scanner app is required on the device. There are several free apps available to download. I included a non-QR code version as well if the technology is not available in your classroom.

This resource is included in the following bundle(s):

My students struggle with factoring so any practice I can give them to reinforce the skills is great. This one makes them move around in the classroom which I always enjoy those opportunities in my mathematics classroom.

Loved that I was able to use this at the end of the year to get my students ready for Algebra II. They thoroughly enjoyed the challenge!

—LISA T.

My students loved getting to do this activity! Since we operate on a block, they get bored and lose focus just doing notes and the same few styles of activities we do, but they loved getting to do this. I think it was really helpful they could scan the QR code to check their answer!
