This is the digital version of my Quadratic Equations Review Escape Room Activity, designed for use in Google Slides™. This quadratic equations escape room is an engaging, no-prep way for students to review the concepts taught throughout a quadratic equations unit.

The 8 challenges cover characteristics of quadratic equations (axis of symmetry, vertex, range, y-intercept, and transformations from the parent function), identifying vertex form, standard form, and factored form from a graph, the discriminant and number of solutions, solving quadratic equations by factoring, by square roots, by completing the square, and by the quadratic formula, and applications (area, consecutive integers, and projectile motion). The challenges are independent of each other, so you can remove some to save time or differentiate. If using all eight challenges, plan for 2–3 class periods or 1–1.5 blocks.

How It Works:

Each challenge puzzle reveals a 3-digit, 4-digit, 4-letter, or 5-letter code. Students work through the problems right in Google Slides™, enter their codes, and move on to the next challenge until they’ve cracked them all. When they’re finished, students can share the completed activity back with you for review. An answer key is included.

What You’ll Receive:

Once purchased, you will receive a PDF document with a link and directions for adding the activity to your Google Drive™. You and your students will need a free Google account to access the activity. Once it’s added to your Drive, you can make copies and share the activity with your students. Also included are an optional Google Form™ that students can use to check their codes on their own and a video that explains how to complete each challenge.

Please note: Digital Google Slides™ activities are sold separately from the curriculum bundles. The printable PDF version of this activity is included in the corresponding curriculum/activity bundle, or you can purchase the printable Quadratic Equations Review Escape Room Activity on its own.

I had purchased the hard copy version a few years ago, but our school district recently went to 1:1 devices so I decided to purchase the Google Slides version so students could use their devices to review. This is put together very well. It's a very thorough activity and very easy to use for both the teacher and students. Students loved this Escape Room Activity immensely and were very engaged! I love the variety of problems students have to solve to complete each activity. I put my students into teams so they worked as a team to complete the activities. The conversations were amazing. Perfect review activity over Quadratics!!

Excellent resource! I really appreciate the fact that the problems in this resource are just challenging enough to increase students' thinking without bombarding them with completely hard problems. If I ever teach Algebra 2 or Precalculus again, I will definitely use this again.

—BARBARA BAUGHER MATH

This is a fun activity to use with my Algebra 1 students. I like that is challenges them which is hard to do sometimes with this group of 8th graders. They are working through it over 3 class periods which is about 2 hours.
