This is the digital version of my Classifying Linear, Quadratic, Exponential Functions Cut & Paste Activity, designed for use in Google Slides™. This classifying functions digital activity is an engaging, no-prep way for students to practice identifying linear, quadratic, and exponential functions.

Students classify each function as linear, quadratic, exponential growth, or exponential decay. Functions are given as equations, tables, and graphs, so students need to recognize the patterns that define each type of function in every representation. It’s a great way to tie these function families together at the end of an Algebra 1 unit or course.

How It Works:

Students analyze each equation, table, or graph, then drag it into the correct category on the template. When they’re finished, students can share the completed activity back with you for review. An answer key is included.

What You’ll Receive:

Once purchased, you will receive a PDF document with a link and directions for adding the activity to your Google Drive™. You and your students will need a free Google account to access the activity. Once it’s added to your Drive, you can make copies and share the activity with your students.

Please note: Digital Google Slides™ activities are sold separately from the curriculum bundles. The printable PDF version of this activity is included in the corresponding curriculum/activity bundle, or you can purchase the printable Classifying Linear, Quadratic, Exponential Functions Cut & Paste Activity on its own.

My students loved this resource because it helped them identify the differences between each of the 3 types of the functions! As they started to sort each representation, they were able to identify the patterns of what made one a type of function versus another.

—JENNIFER A.

The activity is perfect for students to decide if a relation is a linear, quadratic or exponential! Great way to put it altogether at the end of Algebra 1.

—MARY ELLEN HOOD

Amazing as always. Just what I needed for a quick check sub plans while I was out at the end of the year!
