This resource includes guided notes with practice problems on solving and graphing multi-step inequalities and a Tic-Tac-Toe partner activity in which students work in pairs to practice writing and solving multi-step inequalities. Students are also introduced to writing solutions to inequalities in interval notation.
Activity Directions:
I pair the students up and have them choose to be X or O. I give out one board per pair and have them take out their own piece of paper as well. They each choose one problem to solve on their paper. They look for their answer on the board, graph it, write their answer in interval notation, and put an X or O in the corner. Then, they choose two new problems and so on. They win if they get 4 in a row, column, or diagonal. So it’s kind of a mix between Tic-Tac-Toe and Connect 4.
My students enjoyed this one! It definitely kept them engaged.
