This Linear Equations Review Escape Room Activity is a fun and challenging way for students to review concepts taught throughout the Linear Equations unit in Algebra 1.
There are 6 challenge puzzles included, each revealing a 3-digit, 4-digit, or 5-letter code. Detailed directions on how to prep and assemble challenges are included. A student recording sheet for codes and suggested methods for checking codes is also included. A prize is recommended for students who successfully crack all the codes.
Topics Included:
• Challenge A: Slope (from ordered pairs, graphs, and equations)
• Challenge B: Graphing Linear Equations (from slope-intercept form, standard form, and vertical/horizontal lines)
• Challenge C: Writing Linear Equations (given a point and slope or two points- includes writing lines that are parallel or perpendicular to a certain line)
• Challenge D: Identifying Parallel and Perpendicular Lines
• Challenge E: Linear Equation Word Problems
• Challenge F: Linear Regression
How long does this activity take? The challenge puzzles are independent of each other so challenges can be removed to save time or differentiate. If using all six challenges, plan to use 2 periods or a full block.
