This slope formula activity provides students with engaging practice finding the slope of a line through two points using the slope formula. Problems include zero and undefined slopes.
How It Works:
Give each student the pyramid template and puzzle pieces. Students find each slope given the two points and record their answers in the boxes. Then they cut out the puzzle pieces and paste them onto the template so that each solution is the sum of the two solutions directly above it. While there are 20 total problems, only 15 are used on the pyramid template. This was purposely done to create similar answers, so students need to check their work carefully!
Ways to Use It:
This pyramid sum puzzle works well as independent practice, partner work, a review before a quiz or test, or a low-prep sub plan during your slope or linear equations unit.
