This area of regular polygons coloring activity helps high school geometry students practice finding the area of a regular polygon given the apothem, a side length, or the radius. Students use the sum of the interior angles of a polygon, special right triangles (45°-45°-90° and 30°-60°-90°), and trigonometry. There are 12 problems, and all answers are rounded to the nearest tenth.
How It Works:
Students solve each problem, then find their answer on the back to see which color to use. Coloring the flip-flops by their answers makes the activity self-checking.
