Students will practice applying the properties of trapezoids with this Scavenger Hunt activity. Problems include finding a missing angle of both non-isosceles and isosceles trapezoids, finding a diagonal of an isosceles trapezoid, and solving problems related to the midsegment of a trapezoid. Solving a multi-step equation is required for most all problems. This activity was created for a high school level geometry class.
This scavenger hunt includes 20 problems and a student recording worksheet. Hang the problems around the room (or in the hallway) and distribute the recording worksheet to each student. Clipboards work very well for this type of activity! Place your students in groups of 2-3 and assign each group a place to start. They solve the problem at the station, then use their answer to lead them to the next problem. They should finish the Scavenger Hunt at the same problem they started with.
