Students will practice solving problems with theoretical probability and experimental probability with this Scavenger Hunt activity. Students must be able to differentiate between these two types of probabilities, compare them, and use them to predict the outcomes of future events. *Students must be comfortable comparing fractions in order to compare the types of probability!
This scavenger hunt includes 16 problems and a student recording worksheet. Hang the problems around the room (or in the hallway) and distribute the recording worksheet to each student. Clipboards work very well for this type of activity! Place your students in groups of 2-3 and assign each group a place to start. They solve the problem at the station, then use their answer to lead them to the next problem. They should finish the Scavenger Hunt at the same problem they started with
