Students will practice solving quadratic equations by using square roots with this Scavenger Hunt activity. This includes isolating the squared term by using inverse operations to remove constants and coefficients, then taking the square root of both sides. This scavenger hunt includes rational solutions only.
This scavenger hunt includes 12 problems and a student recording worksheet. Hang the problems around the room (or in the hallway) and distribute the recording worksheet to each student. Clipboards work very well for this type of activity! Place your students in groups of 2-3 and assign each group a place to start. They solve the problem at the station, then use their answer to lead them to the next problem. They should finish the Scavenger Hunt at the same problem they started with.
