Students will practice solving systems of equations by graphing, substitution, and elimination (word problems included) by working through this set of 10 task cards. I organized the cards so they students would practice each method of solving systems. Students will solve them as follows:
- Cards 1-2: Solve by Graphing
- Cards 3-4: Solve by Substitution
- Cards 5-6: Solve by Elimination
- Cards 7-10: Word Problems; Solve by method of choice.
A recording worksheet is included for students to show work, including graphs for the first two task cards. They can check their answers by scanning the QR code on each card. Connection to the internet is not required to scan the code. However, a QR scanner app is required on the device. There are several free apps available to download.
If you haven’t used QR codes in your classroom yet, I highly recommend them! Students love using the technology, and the self-checking makes it easier on the teacher!
