This absolute value graphs activity provides Algebra 2 students with engaging practice identifying the absolute value equation or absolute value inequality that matches a given graph. Each graph has four answer choices, so students need to pay close attention to details like the vertex, the direction the graph opens, and the shaded region before making their choice.
How It Works:
Students receive a worksheet of graphs along with a separate worksheet of equations and inequalities. For each graph, they determine which of the four choices best represents it, then cut out that equation or inequality and paste it onto the graphs worksheet.
Ways to Use It:
This cut and paste activity works well as independent practice, partner work, a review before a quiz or test, or a low-prep sub plan during your absolute value functions unit.
