This law of sines ambiguous case activity provides Algebra 2 students with engaging practice using the Law of Sines and their knowledge of the ambiguous case to find angle measures in triangles. There are 12 problems in all: four have one solution, four have two solutions, and four have no solution, so students have to think carefully about each triangle rather than relying on a pattern.
How It Works:
Students solve each problem, write their answers directly on the cards, then cut them out and paste them onto the template in the row that matches the number of solutions (one, two, or none).
Ways to Use It:
This cut and paste sorting activity works well as independent practice, partner work, a review before a quiz or test, or a low-prep sub plan during your trigonometry unit.
