Students will practice applying the properties of exponents (product rule, quotient rule, power rule, and negative exponent rule) to simplify monomial expressions with this PowerPoint Koosh Ball Game. There are also application problems with finding area and perimeter of geometric figures on some of the 1,000-point problems. There are 45 problems in this game!

Students use a Koosh ball to aim for the circles on the board. Once a circle is hit, a problem will appear. Simply click “answer” for students to check. When you click “Back”, the circle will disappear so there are no repeats. Because this game was made with PowerPoint, it can be used with any interactive whiteboard. A student worksheet to record work is included.

PowerPoint is required for this game! It will not work with Google Slides or any other program. The game can be played with a Smart Board (or other interactive whiteboard) in which students can aim for a circle with a Koosh ball. Or, you can play the game with a projector and just have students come up to the computer to click on a problem.

My students love these games! It's a great way to get students excited and involved in skill practice. We often play student vs teacher where I set a target for students to get to as a class and if they get to that target they win.

This was engaging and fun for my students as we reviewed before their test!
