This is the digital version of my Linear Equations Review Escape Room Activity, designed for use in Google Slides™. This linear equations escape room is an engaging, no-prep way for students to review the concepts taught throughout a linear equations unit.

The 6 challenges cover slope (from ordered pairs, graphs, and equations), graphing linear equations (from slope-intercept form, standard form, and vertical/horizontal lines), writing linear equations given a point and slope or two points (including parallel and perpendicular lines), identifying parallel and perpendicular lines, linear equation word problems, and linear regression. The challenges are independent of each other, so you can remove some to save time or differentiate. If using all six challenges, plan for two class periods or a full block.

How It Works:

Each challenge puzzle reveals a 3-digit, 4-digit, 4-letter, or 5-letter code. Students work through the problems right in Google Slides™, enter their codes, and move on to the next challenge until they’ve cracked them all. When they’re finished, students can share the completed activity back with you for review. An answer key is included.

What You’ll Receive:

Once purchased, you will receive a PDF document with a link and directions for adding the activity to your Google Drive™. You and your students will need a free Google account to access the activity. Once it’s added to your Drive, you can make copies and share the activity with your students. Also included are an optional Google Form™ that students can use to check their codes on their own and a video that explains how to complete each challenge.

Please note: Digital Google Slides™ activities are sold separately from the curriculum bundles. The printable PDF version of this activity is included in the corresponding curriculum/activity bundle, or you can purchase the printable Linear Equations Review Escape Room Activity on its own.

I love using these for extensions and reviews. I often use them on those days where we have a weird schedule or right before a break. Some kids love them and some find it too challenging (because it looks different than book problems). I find them useful for building persistence and problem-solving. The digital version is great for when I forget/run out of time to copy, laminate, and assemble for groups.

—FIREWEED TEACHING

I used this on the day back after winter break. It was a good review and nice for the students to come back to doing something interesting

My students loved this activity and it allowed them to work with others. I loved listening to them interact and learn from one another.
