This distributive property with integers cross number puzzle helps students practice simplifying expressions using the distributive property with both positive and negative integer operations. There are 26 expressions to simplify.
For the version with positive integer operations only, click here.
How It Works:
This activity works like a crossword puzzle, but students fill in mathematical expressions instead of letters. Students solve each Across and Down problem and record their answers in the puzzle. The puzzle is self-checking, because answers that don’t fit help students spot and correct mistakes. It can be completed independently or with a partner, with one partner completing the Across problems and the other completing the Down problems.
