Students will practice simplifying numerical expressions by using the order of operations with this “Cross-Number” Puzzle. This activity includes operations with positive integers only!
This activity is similar to a crossword puzzle, but instead, students fill in numbers rather than letters. There are “Across” problems and “Down” problems. Students simplify each expression, then fill in their answers into the puzzle accordingly. The puzzle provides a way to self-check and it helps students identify mistakes if their answers do not fit.
