This Exponent Rules Triples Activity is a Triples activity in which students practice applying exponent rules (laws of exponents) to simplify expressions. Properties covered include the product rule, power rule, quotient rule, negative exponent rule, and zero exponent rule, along with a review of adding and subtracting monomials by combining like terms.
The activity includes 30 cards, arranged into 10 sets of 3 matching cards. Students simplify each expression and then identify the three cards that have the same answer. Once complete, students cut out the cards and match them into their 10 sets of “triples.”
An answer key is included for easy checking. Please download the preview to view sample cards and see the level of problems included.
