Students will practice operations with polynomials, including addition, subtraction, and multiplication, with this “Triples” Activity. Multiplication problems include binomial × binomial and binomial × trinomial.
The activity includes 30 cards, arranged into 10 sets of 3 matching cards. Students simplify each expression and then identify the three cards that have the same answer. This activity puts a fun twist on traditional task cards and can be completed individually, with a partner, or in small groups.
Once all expressions have been simplified, students cut out the cards and match them into their 10 sets of “triples.” An answer key is included for easy checking.
