This free graphing linear equations activity is a festive way for students to practice graphing lines during the holiday season. Two versions are included: one with equations in slope-intercept form and another with equations in standard form, so you can choose the version that best fits the needs of your students.
How It Works:
Students graph ten lines on a tree using the indicated colors, then color and cut out twelve ornaments and a star. Each ornament is pasted at a specific intersection of lines, so students need accurate graphs to place them correctly. To finish, students cut out the tree and paste the star on top. All they need are colored pencils, scissors, and glue sticks.
The finished trees are colorful and make a great holiday bulletin board display.
This activity works very well with Pre-Algebra Unit 5: Functions & Linear Relationships or Algebra 1 Unit 4: Linear Equations.
