This free factoring polynomials graphic organizer walks students through how to choose the right factoring method. It starts with looking for a GCF, then branches out by the number of terms: difference of squares for two terms, trinomials (x² + bx + c and ax² + bx + c) for three terms, and factoring by grouping for four terms. Each method includes space for notes and example problems.
How It Works:
Students work through the examples for each type of factoring, using the flowchart to decide which method to use. It’s a great visual to help students keep the different methods straight, and it makes a handy reference for their notebooks or binders. It works well as a review once all the factoring methods have been taught, or right before a quiz or test.
This organizer works very well with Algebra 1 Unit 7: Polynomials & Factoring.
