This Functions Find Someone Who Activity gets students out of their seats while they review domain and range of ordered pairs and continuous graphs, relations vs. functions (repeating x-values and the vertical line test), finding the range of a function given its domain, evaluating functions in function notation and from a graph, and identifying zeros of functions from a graph, a linear equation, and a quadratic equation (by graphing on the calculator, as an introduction before solving by factoring). There are 15 problems in all, and students trade papers with their classmates to complete them.
I use this as a review activity before the students take a quiz on the material. It works very well because they see all the concepts come together.
