In this activity, students walk around and find 14 different people to trade papers with to complete the review. The concepts covered are below:
· Domain & Range of Ordered Pairs
· Domain & Range of a Continuous Graph
· Determining Relations vs. Functions (Repeating x-values or Vertical Line Test)
· Finding the range of a function given its domain.
· Evaluate functions written in function notation.
· Evaluate functions given a graph.
· Identifying zeros of functions given a graph
· Finding the zero of a linear equation (By setting equal to and solving for x.)
· Finding zeros of a quadratic equation (By graphing on the calculator). I teach how to solve by factoring later in the year. This is just an introduction to the concept.
I use this as a review activity before the students take a quiz on the material. It works very well because they see all the concepts come together.
