Students will practice solving algebraic problems with parallel lines cut by a transversal with this Pyramid Sum Puzzle activity. This includes alternate interior angles, alternate exterior angles, corresponding angles, and consecutive interior angles. Students will need to solve for a variable and find angle measurements. Some more challenging problems are included. This activity was written for a high school level geometry class.
Simply give each student the template and set of problems. They solve each problem, cut out the boxes, then paste them onto the template so that each solution is the sum of the two solutions directly above it.
