Students will practice simplifying numerical expressions using the order of operations with this “Triples” Activity. There are 30 total cards in which there are 10 sets of 3 cards with the same answer. I created this activity as a twist on the classic task cards.
Students can work on their own or in teams to simplify the expressions. Once they have finished all the cards, I have them cut them out, staple their “triples”, and place them in a zip-lock bag for a classwork grade. I allow them to work directly on the card. Or, they can write on the back. A simple answer key is provided to ensure the cards are matched correctly.
