Students will practice solving triangle problems using the Law of Sines and Law of Cosines with this Scavenger Hunt activity. This activity includes: finding side lengths, finding angle measures (ambiguous case included), word problems (includes bearings and degree-minute-second form), and area of triangle problems. There are some challenging problems that require students to read carefully.
This scavenger hunt includes 12 problems and a student recording worksheet. Hang the problems around the room (or in the hallway) and distribute the recording worksheet to each student. Clipboards work very well for this type of activity! Place your students in groups of 2-3 and assign each group a place to start. They solve the problem at the station, then use their answer to lead them to the next problem. They should finish the Scavenger Hunt at the same problem they started with.
