Students will practice solving exponential equations using a common base with this Pyramid Sum Puzzle activity. Knowledge of positive and negative exponents required. Some questions require students to combine bases on one side of the equation.
Simply give each student the template and set of problems. They solve each equation, cut out the boxes, then paste them onto the template so that each solution is the sum of the two solutions directly above it.
