Students will practice finding the derivative of a function with this set of 20 task cards. Cards 1-6 require students to find the derivative using the limit definition and cards 7-20 require students use derivative rules (constant rule, power rule, sum and difference, product rule, and quotient rule) to find the derivative.
This activity includes polynomial, radical, and rational functions. The chain rule is NOT required to complete these cards. This activity is intended for students in a Pre-Calculus class getting a simple introduction to derivatives.
Students can check their answers by scanning the QR code on each card. Connection to the internet is not required to scan the code, however, a QR scanner app is required on the device. There are several free apps available to download. Cards without QR codes also included should you wish not to use them.
