I distribute the Find Someone Who Activity to each student and first tell students to put their name on the paper, because they will be trading papers with their classmates many times. Then, they choose any one problem to do on their own to start. Then, they get up and find 11 other people to trade papers to complete the remaining problems. They sign their name on the problems they did. I walk around with my own paper and trade with them as well and encourage students to try different problems each time. This gives me an opportunity to engage in math discussion with them individually.

This was a fun activity to practice tangent lines. I got in the mix too which the students liked. Love getting the kids up and moving!

This was a fantastic activity! I teach in a block schedule - it is always great to get them up and moving. I also liked that they went to 11 different people - in lieu of staying with their current pod or group.

—KELLY H.

Very engaging! My kids loved being able to get out of their desks and talk to one another. I also walked around with a sheet and was able to interact with kids to gauge their understanding. I also liked how some of the problems were more challenging and required students to really analyze the problem. Great activity!
