Students will practice finding missing sides in 45-45-90 and 30-60-90 special right triangles with this “Find Someone Who” Activity. There are 16 questions total (2-sided). The students must get up and trade papers with different people in the class to complete the activity.
I distribute the Find Someone Who Activity to each student and first tell students to put their name on the paper, because they will be trading papers with their classmates many times. Then, they choose any one problem to do on their own to start. Then, they get up and find 15 other people to trade papers to complete the remaining problems. They sign their name on the problems they did. I walk around with my own paper and trade with them as well and encourage students to try different problems each time. This gives me an opportunity to engage in math discussion with them individually.
