Students will practice solving multi-step linear equations, specifically equations whose solutions require expanding expressions using the distributive property and collecting like terms, by completing this fun and engaging relay activity. Students must first fill in the box with their previous station’s answer, then continue solving the equation. They continue doing this as they move from station to station. This type of activity typically slows students down to ensure accuracy.
I included 12 stations, a recording worksheet, the answer key, and an independent version of the activity should you wish to use as enrichment instead of a full-class activity.
