This parallel and perpendicular lines activity is a fun, low-prep way for Algebra 1 students to practice identifying parallel and perpendicular lines from their equations and writing equations of lines through a given point that are parallel or perpendicular to a given line. These problems were written for a high school Geometry class but work well in Algebra 1 too.
How It Works:
Students rotate through 10 stations, and the answer at each station reveals a piece of a story (who, doing what, with whom, where, when, etc.). It’s a much more fun approach to multiple choice, and students love reading their finished stories to the class, especially when they find out which of their teachers is the “star” of the story!
Edit all story elements!
All slides are given in an editable format so you are free to personalize the story for your students. PowerPoint is required to edit. Only story elements can be changed, not the actual problems.
