Students will practice graphing exponential functions and identifying key characteristics with this stations activity. The activity includes functions of the form y = ab^x + k only, with no other transformations.

Students will identify characteristics such as growth vs. decay, domain, range, y-intercept, and asymptote. This activity is most appropriate for students first learning about exponential functions and is typically best suited for an Algebra 1 course.

The only prep work required is printing the 8 station cards, posting them around the room, and copying enough worksheets for students to complete as they rotate through the stations.

Students will practice analyzing two-way tables by interpreting data and finding percents with this Scavenger Hunt activity. There is a mix of fully completed and partially filled tables, requiring students to determine missing values before answering questions. A few more complex problems also require students to combine data values within the table.

Simply print the 15 problems and scatter around the room (and in the hallway if possible), give each student a recording worksheet, group students, and assign them a place to start. The answer they get will lead them to their next problem. They continue looping around until they have completed all 15 stations.

Students will practice finding the volume of a rectangular prism with this Cross Number Puzzle. The problems include both fraction and decimal dimensions, so students must be comfortable with operations with fractions and decimals.

This activity is similar to a crossword puzzle, but instead of filling in letters, students fill in numbers. There are both Across and Down problems. Students find the volume of the rectangular prism given each diagram and record their answers in the puzzle accordingly. The puzzle is self-checking, allowing students to spot and correct errors if their answers do not fit.

There are 25 problems included. This activity can be completed independently or with a partner. When working in pairs, one partner can complete the Across problems while the other works on the Down problems.

Students will determine whether data shown in a table or graph represents a proportional relationship with this interactive True or False Red Card/Green Card PowerPoint Activity.

Distribute one red card and one green card to each student. Cards can be made from construction paper (approximately 4 × 6 inches) and laminated for repeated use throughout the year.

Run the PowerPoint presentation. For each problem, students decide whether the given data represents a proportional relationship. If the relationship is proportional (true), they hold up their green card. If the relationship is not proportional (false), they hold up their red card. For proportional relationships, you may also ask students to identify the constant of proportionality. Fractional constants are included, and students must also be able to work with decimals.

Students can check their answers by clicking the green check or red X. Correct answers trigger an applause sound, while incorrect answers trigger a buzzer. There are 25 questions total. Use the activity all at once or break it up for multiple uses as review, a warm-up, or an exit ticket.
