Students will use their understanding of angle relationships formed when parallel lines are cut by a transversal, including corresponding angles, alternate interior angles, alternate exterior angles, consecutive interior angles, and consecutive exterior angles, to find missing angle measures. The activity also incorporates complementary, supplementary, and vertical angles to reinforce these additional relationships. No algebra is required. While some diagrams are included, the activity is primarily vocabulary-focused and emphasizes identifying and applying angle relationships.

NOTE: There are two versions of this activity: one that uses the terms consecutive interior and consecutive exterior angles, and another that uses same-side interior and same-side exterior angles. Choose the version that best suits your needs.

There are 30 problems included. This activity can be completed independently or with a partner. When working in pairs, one partner can complete the Across problems while the other works on the Down problems.

Their answers reveal a hidden message within the image, making it a fun and interactive activity. This is a great first-day-of-school resource for any class with prior exposure to integer operations.

Simply distribute a copy of the puzzle to each student. Students solve the 40 integer operation problems and shade the sections containing their answers. As they complete the puzzle, a hidden message is revealed. Because the activity is self-checking, students can easily identify and correct mistakes if they cannot find an answer or if the message does not appear correctly.

BONUS: This resource also includes an editable version, allowing you to replace the integer operations with a topic of your choice. *PowerPoint is required to make edits.

There are 20 problems total, separated into two sets. Students simplify each expression, then look for matching answers between the sets. They color the picture according to their matching answers. This could also used as a partner activity in which Partner A completes Set 1 and Partner B completes Set 2. I personally recommend this activity to be used as a partner activity!

There is a mix of fully completed and partially filled tables, requiring students to determine missing values before answering questions. A few more complex problems also require students to combine data values within the table.

Simply print the 15 problems and scatter around the room (and in the hallway if possible), give each student a recording worksheet, group students, and assign them a place to start. The answer they get will lead them to their next problem. They continue looping around until they have completed all 15 stations.

Students will apply their understanding of permutations and combinations to determine the number of possible outcomes in a variety of scenarios with this Cross Number Puzzle. The activity focuses on identifying whether each situation represents a permutation or a combination and calculating each value accordingly. Most problems are straightforward with no restrictions; however, one problem involves rearranging letters in a word with repeated letters.

This activity is similar to a crossword puzzle, but instead of filling in letters, students fill in numbers. There are both Across and Down problems. Students solve each problem and record their answers in the puzzle accordingly. The puzzle is self-checking, allowing students to spot and correct errors if their answers do not fit.

There are 24 problems included. This activity can be completed independently or with a partner. When working in pairs, one partner can complete the Across problems while the other works on the Down problems.
